Special Occasion On the Horizon? Wear a Bow Tie!

Special Occasion On the Horizon? Wear a Bow Tie!

Make every special occasion a bow tie wearing occasion. Bow ties can lighten up any penguin suit, where you can express yourself as much or as little as you'd like. Gain your style independence from your mother and/or significant other and learn how to dress to impress. Find that balance between being yourself and looking your best with the assistance of the bow tie. Let those pictures that capture those memorable moments, also show that you have great style!

Prom or Formal Date in Training

Your date has had her dress on layaway since last January and will spend close to four hours caking makeup onto her face to achieve that "natural look," ironically only to be in a room where the lighting conditions are flashlight tag appropriate. So put some effort into your formal wardrobe and make sure it doesn't look as though your mom and/or date laid out your entire look for you on your bed.

Experiment with color and don't shy away from making a courageous fashion move within reason. Although the duct tape tux and handmade bow tie "looks pretty sweet," your date might not appreciate your cheap artistic expression of style, that is unless she is also rocking the duct tape dress as well. Make bow ties the man's version of the corsage: always make sure it "goes" but doesn't match your date's ensemble, and don't you DARE show up to their doorstep without one.

OoOTie Prom/Formal Wear Pick: Block Island Red and Blue Paisley Bow Tie, Dinosaur Bow Tie (dinosaurs are way more classy looking than duct tape), Anchors Away Bow Tie (to tie into the under the sea theme).

Graduation-Bound

Toss your hat in the air like you just don't care. But don't make that the case with your under-gown wear! Prone to flip flops, shorts, and unbrushed hair graduates have a tendency to let it all go on such a snapshot worthy occasion. Take as much pride in your look as in your achievement. Today you're kind of a big deal. So what better way to stand out from the sea of black than with some awesome neck candy?

Celebrate the fact that you have both brains and beauty by playing
up your smarts and choosing to wear a bow tie. Think fun patterns, bright colors, or whatever makes you feel like a million bucks. The only wrong you can do today is to not receive your diploma on stage in style.

OoOTie Graduation Pick: Kappa Kane (School pride!), Make Way For Ducklings Bow Tie (For the Boston school grad), Pigs In a Blanket Bow Tie (A chance for the class clown to go out with a laugh).

Groom-To-Be

Typically described as "the best day of one's life," shouldn't one look his Sunday best? Kate Middleton may have reestablished that "it's all about the dress," but it's safe to say that Prince William didn't show up to the Abbey sporting sweats. Feeling good and looking good go hand and hand, so make sure that when your bride-to-be hits the runway that she doesn't want to run far, far away. Give yourself some style credit and look like the catch your bride knows you are with the help of an elegant-looking bow tie. Think conservative chic, with the help of velvety textures, rich or pastel accent colors, and basic patterns. Remember: Bow ties make almost everyone look "I do" worthy;)

OoOTie Wedding Pick:
Candy Shop Bow Tie (Polka Dots for the ceremony and stripes for the reception. Or vice versa:), Ninja-what? Black Paisley Bow Tie (Formal wear with a sense of humor), Two Mystery Bow Ties (Test your good fortune by trying your luck!)

Keep it classy!
